Today we hosted some family and friends for lunch to celebrate Bryce's first birthday. We had a lot of fun visiting with everyone and catching up. We got a cupcake-cake for everyone to enjoy (so much less messy! big thank you to Nikki for starting this trend) and a "mini" cake for Bryce. In the ad, it looked tiny, like a 2" by 2" cube. In reality, it was a 4" x 4" cube. Way too big for Bryce! He had no idea what to do with it...
Everyone remarked that he is the only baby they've ever seen who hasn't taken a nose dive into their cake. He had one taste of frosting and one bite of cake and he was done. Done! Who is this kid?!? He definitely takes after his father.
This was Evan's response to my asking "Don't you want a picture with you in it?" Smart-alec...
Bryce didn't quite understand what opening presents was all about, but he did enjoy his new books, especially the Cars book with the horn to honk, and he liked spinning the wheels on one of his new trucks.
We are so thankful to have such a great group of family and friends to celebrate with us. We missed those who couldn't join us and hope we can see them soon. What a fabulous day!!!
