We're aware that technically, Bryce shouldn't have such interesting foods as refried beans until he's graduated from rice cereal, pureed vegetables, and pureed fruits. However, there is LOTS of chatter on my mom's groups regarding whether or not babies can try things in any order, mixed together, etc. etc. (as well as whether or not rice cereal is a "conspiracy" of the baby food industry...I think some of these moms need something better to do...). Bryce seemed really interested when we were eating mexican the other night, so we gave him a tiny taste of refried beans. Nothing was swallowed, most of it was on his cheek from the start, but he enjoyed it nonetheless.

Bryce, meet refried beans.
